I'm a self-taught web developer from a beautiful small town in Worcestershire, UK. I've had an interest in tinkering with web technologies ever since the days of Piczo and Freewebs, and source: frequently appeared in my address bar. Most recently I have worked with a large news company within the UK to help deliver data-driven content to millions of monthly readers.
As part of my work for a large UK news company, I was often tasked with creating pages that allowed readers to post a tribute to someone who had recently passed. One of the most prominent figures I built a page for was Queen Elizabeth II. Alongside this page I provided an internal-use-only moderation tool to help journalists filter through thousands of messages over a very busy 48 hours.
A small project I built to learn React and SASS. 5 well-known phrases (quotes, lyrics etc.) are shown with each having a blank that the player must fill in, selecting one of the 4 options presented. Each correct answer awards 1000 points, but using a hint reduces the available points for that round to only 500.
Used Inertia.js to stitch together a Vue.js front end combined with a Laravel back end to create a full-stack application that allows users to stream music. Additionally features an administrative CMS for managing catalogue content. Future plans for this project include setting up context-based queueing for tracks, user playlists, and implementing a feature to bring together ChatGPT and Suno.
